Staff

Our staff has over a half century of combined experience working with boys and girls at all levels and across sports including baseball, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and more. This diverse background allows our coaches to draw on a broad range of athletic principles and techniques, enriching their ability to develop well-rounded athletes. They each have extensive playing experience at the high school and collegiate level in Division I, II, III and MCLA programs. Several have won league, county, state and national titles. A majority are on the athletic staff at Brookline High School. Many are also professional educators outside of their coaching responsibilities. All are passionate about teaching athletic fundamentals.

Their excellence in coaching has been recognized by their peers, with honors such as the MIAA Bay State Girls’ Lacrosse Coach of the Year (Coach Molloy) and Boys’ Assistant Lacrosse Coach of the Year (Coach Gardner), MCSAO Varsity Basketball Coach of the Year (Coach Cook).

However, what truly sets our coaches apart is their unwavering commitment to the growth and development of each athlete. Their passion for the game, combined with their cross-sport expertise and professional educational experience, ensures that players receive top-level training and mentorship to thrive both on and off the field.

  • Chris Cook

    CO-FOUNDER

    Chris Cook began his lacrosse journey as a member of Shoreham Wading River’s inaugural youth lacrosse team. Excelling in both basketball and lacrosse, he served as a two-sport captain and was an All-County midfielder, playing a key role in leading Shoreham Wading-River to its first County Championship in 2001 and a State Championship in 2002. In High School, Chris played with five eventual college All-Americans and 7 players who played in the MLL. At Northeastern University, Chris continued to shine in club lacrosse, earning 4x All-America honors, leading the nation in assists three times, and participating in three national championship tournaments. He still holds the collegiate club record for assists, with 239.

    From 2003 to 2007, Chris volunteered as an assistant coach at Shoreham Wading-River, contributing to five county titles, two Long Island titles, and a state championship. As a varsity basketball coach in Boston, he led his team at Boston Prep to the MCSAO championship game in 2011 and was named state coach of the year. In his role as Athletic Director, Chris established comprehensive athletic programs, including a varsity athletic training initiative. He also coached a youth travel lacrosse team on Long Island, leading them to victory at the 2022 PrimeTime national tournament. Chris’s coaching experience spans fitness programs, varsity track, varsity basketball, and varsity lacrosse, all while supporting youth athletic experiences and programs.

    As an educator, Chris taught ELA and social studies, and served as a high school principal and district administrator, always focusing on individual improvement, team excellence, and community engagement. He now works in Workforce and Economic Development in Higher Education. His dedication to creating highly effective learning environments is central to his approach in both education and athletics.

  • Robert Kwak

    CO-FOUNDER

    Read Bio

    An entrepreneur with a background in operations, Robert has over a decade of lacrosse coaching experience at the youth and high school level. A native of New York, Robert was a two-sport captain in soccer and lacrosse at the Trinity School, where he played midfield and led the lacrosse program to its first league title in school history his senior year. He was a member of the 1989 men’s lacrosse team at Amherst College where he started at attack and led his class in goals.

    Robert has served as a member of the volunteer and paid staff at numerous programs in California and Massachusetts including Pasadena Tribe, Brookline Youth Lacrosse, Glendale HS (CA) where he coached under USL-LA Chapter Hall of Fame Coach Joe Campbell, Newbury College (Assistant Coach/Defensive Coordinator), and Brookline High School (Varsity Assistant). He is currently the Volunteer Assistant Coach and head of program operations at Brookline HS.

    A graduate of Amherst and Georgetown Law School, outside of lacrosse Robert leads operations at a design/fabrication firm and has served as adjunct faculty in the Massachusetts public college system.

  • Annie Carlson

    Annie Carlson is the Assistant Varsity Coach for Brookline High School. A native of Centerport, NY, she won four Catholic High School Athletic Association league championships with St. Anthony’s as part of a team defense ranked No. 3 in the nation. In addition to representing her high school, she played club lacrosse for the Long Island Express. A 2016 graduate of the University of Maryland, she played defense for the Terps as a member of the 2014 and 2015 NCAA Division I National Champion teams.

  • Tim Ellison

    COACH (BASKETBALL)

    Tim Ellison is in his second season as the middle school basketball coach at the Driscoll Public School in Brookline.  In 2023 he led Driscoll to the Brookline inter-school championship along with Coach Richardson.  He previously worked as a coach and teacher's assistant at Launch at Lynch Summer Program. 

    Basketball is part of Tim's DNA and he has had extensive lifelong personal and professional experience with the sport. He's played organized basketball since childhood at the community, middle and high school levels, including at Brookline High School, as well as on championship travel and AAU teams including the Brockton Mavericks.

    In addition to coaching at Driscoll, Tim is a part-time substitute teacher at Driscoll, author, and youth development specialist at Smart from the Start working with adolescents suffering from depression and anxiety. He is a 2014 graduate of BHS, attended UMASS Dartmouth, and is a certified youth development specialist.

  • Dan Gardner

    COACH (LACROSSE)

    Dan Gardner is the Head Coach of the Brookline High School Boys’ Varsity Program. A native of Newton, Dan was a standout midfielder at Newton North High School playing for legendary coach Bussy Adam, who holds the record for most lacrosse wins in Massachusetts . At Newton North, he won a state title in 1996, the Eastern MA championship in 1997, and was named Second Team Bay State League All-Star. He played his collegiate lacrosse at Eastern CT State and UMass Boston.

    Dan has over two decades of high school coaching experience working at Algonquin Regional HS (Central MA 2005 Champions), Brookline and Arlington HS. He returned to Brookline in the 2012 season as Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator and was a two-time Bay State Asst. Coach of the Year prior to assuming the helm of the Varsity program 2018.

    Outside of coaching, Dan is a high school educator in the Newton Public School District.

  • Dan Goldberg

    COACH (LACROSSE/GOALIES)

    Dan Goldberg is the defensive coordinator and goalie coach for Brookline High School. A native of North Woodmere, NY, Dan was a two-time captain at Hewlett HS and a member of the 2005 Class B County championship team. A two-time all Nassau-County goalie, he set program records in career saves, goals against average, single-game saves and save percentage. As a multi-sport HS athlete (track, football, and basketball) he was also an all-conference tight end and defensive end. Dan played his college lacrosse at St. Johns and the University of Albany.

    Prior to joining the staff at Brookline HS, Dan coached in Southern California at Chaminade HS, Brentwood HS, and UCLA.

  • Jason Lee

    COACH (LACROSSE)

    Read Bio

    Jason Lee is the Brookline High School Boys’ Varsity Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator. He hails from Brookline, Massachusetts, and is a 2016 graduate of Brookline High School. During his time at BHS, Jason was named Bay State All-Star three times in lacrosse and is the all time points leader in school history (262 points). After Brookline, he attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where he tallied 110 points (76 goals, 34 assists).

    Since returning to Massachusetts, Jason has served as a coach for Laxachusetts and worked at Northeastern’s Department for Labor Market Studies.

  • Julianna Molloy

    COACH (LACROSSE)

    Julianna is in her 4th year as the Head Coach of the Brookline High School Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse program. During the 2023 season, she was named Bay State Coach of the Year. A native of Connecticut, she was a standout multi-sport athlete at Guilford HS in lacrosse, field hockey and ice hockey. Julianna was a two-time All-SCC First Team and All-State Second Team selection in lacrosse, a field hockey All-SCC All-Star selection, and All-SCC Second Team All-Star selection in ice hockey. A 2016 graduate of Assumption College, she played lacrosse all four year and was tied for the team lead in goals her senior year.

  • Brendan O'Connor

    COACH (BASEBALL)

    Coach O'Connor is entering his fifth season as Varsity Baseball Head Coach of Brookline High School after several years as the JV Coach and Varsity Assistant.

    Coach O'Connor is a 2004 graduate of Brookline High School where he was a 3x Bay State Conference All-Star. He pitched and played shortstop at Herkimer County Community College and Lander University.

    Outside of coaching, Brendan is a firefighter for the town of Brookline.

  • Devon Richardson

    COACH (BASKETBALL)

    Devon Richardson is in his second season as the middle school basketball coach at the Driscoll Public School in Brookline.  In 2023 he led Driscoll to the Brookline inter-school championship along with Coach Ellison.  He has spent his life in and around the sport, playing on a recreational level in the Brookline area.

    A 2014 graduate of Brookline High School, Devon holds a BS in Operational Management from UMass Dartmouth and is currently pursuing a MS in Sports Management at Southern New Hampshire University.  Outside of coaching basketball, he works in administration for Chestnut Hill Realty.

  • Tessa Scheid

    Tessa Scheid

    COACH (LACROSSE)

    READ BIO

    Tessa began her lacrosse career in Medway, MA and went on to play at the collegiate level at Marist College and Northeastern University. During her time in Medway, Tessa was a two-sport captain, three-time Tri-Valley League All-Star, two-time Medway Offensive Player of the Year, and team Most Valuable Player her senior year. She was also chosen to be the Eastern Massachusetts Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Star and made the U.S. Lacrosse All-Academic Team in 2017. In addition to lacrosse, Tessa also earned honors in field hockey and track. At the collegiate level, Tessa played Division I lacrosse at Marist College her freshman and sophomore year. In 2019, she joined the WCLA through Northeastern’s club lacrosse program where she was team captain her senior year.

    Tessa graduated from Northeastern in 2022 and now works in the solar industry.
